What People Are Saying
Visited Tamashaa on opening night. Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented! Cocktails were also on point and thoughtfully crafted. Glad to have this new gem in the neighborhood and look forward to watching it grow into one of DC’s favorites!
This place is finally open and it was so worth the wait. The food was very innovative. The staff spent time traveling around India to find the right dishes to showcase and it really paid off.
Strongly recommend the Ghevar Chaat, a sort of honeycomb-like small plate with mousse, chutney, and various other toppings. Sweet, salty, umami, all rolled into one.
I tried one of the NA drinks because I was there for lunch and it was fantastic. Excited to dive into the rest of their beautifully illustrated cocktail menu another day.
Nestled at the intersection of bright flavors and innovative dishes, this new jewel of Columbia Heights elevates an already culturally explosive neighborhood rife with unique spaces and talented chefs. Prepare to be transported as you enter this magical space with plush seating, lively music, welcoming staff, and exciting menu. Their refreshing offering merges old world India with updated options and encourages the mind and palette to explore. Our server, Sushant, was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He was the perfect guide to help us navigate a strong cocktail menu and shared his favorite dishes. We enjoyed the Tamashaa and the chaat before we indulged in the delectable Smoked Salmon Puchkas, Pistachio Crushed Lamb, and the Paneer Pinwheel. While we were too full for dessert this time we will definitely be back and encourage everyone to experience this amazing place! I wish i could give more stars but I’ll settle for five stars for now. Thank you Tamashaa!
This is a wonderful new Indian restaurant with a creative and tasteful menu! The spotlight on elements of culture and heritage are what particularly stand out in a beautiful way. They have done a great job of showcasing the unique and diverse cuisine of India. They have a creative drinks menu which includes many non-alcoholic options. The service is above that of most other establishments, and the Chef is also incredibly kind. Anirudh was a great server and seamlessly managing multiple roles during a busy first Friday.
This modern Indian restaurant opened just a few days ago and it's so good! 😊
Their mocktails are named after Mahabharata characters😄... I had the 'Draupadi' drink and...
Smoked salmon phuchka, chicken beet root dumplings, lamb nihari, and chocolate dome baileys rabri for dessert.
Dino was my server and what a delightful and prompt person he was! I think I'll go back again to try some more dishes.
Love this place! Definitely an authentic experience with the cuisine. Everything is so pretty in there too, with tons of artwork and special details spread out here and there so if you have an eye for art this is a wonderful experience.

You need to prepare yourself for how good this food is. My eyes closed with every bite so that I could fully enjoy each morsel. I got the duck and my partner got the pistachio crushed lamb and we practically licked our plates clean! We also got the thoughtfully crafted cocktails and commented on the beautiful ambience. Every detail has been thought through, down to the silverware. Must go!
